Community Health and Wellness

Approximately 60% of Bolivians live in poverty; the percentage is higher for indigenous people, especially women and children. They often lack basic needs such as access to adequate housing, clean water and sanitation, health care, and health education.

When completed, the medical/dental clinic at Fundación Ayllu will offer basic medical consultation and care to members of the local community. The clinic room is complete, but furnishings and equipment are needed.

Individuals with medical needs are helped on an individual basis by providing medication and transportation to medical facilities.

The after school program includes health and wellness education on topics such as nutrition, healthy emotional development and proper dental care.

An on-site organic garden provides opportunities for healthy snacks. Chickens are raised for egg production.
